Tim Sprain

Board Member

Tim is honored to be part of an organization that closely reflects his personal passions and values. His roots run deep in the Coulee Region, where he grew up in a family that valued agriculture, education, and the performing arts. Experiences in 4-H, the West Salem School Forest, and the La Crosse Community Theater played a formative role in shaping his youth.

Tim is a 7th grade teacher and serves as the 6th through 12th grade Science Coordinator for the La Crosse School District. He is also a graduate faculty member at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. Through his work, Tim is committed to serving the needs of regional communities, with a continued emphasis on the values that guided his upbringing.

When asked why he enjoys serving on the WisCorps Board of Directors, three words stand out: “work”, “land”, and “passion”. Work because WisCorps emphasizes skill-building and a strong work ethic. Land because sustainable land-use practices are essential to our future. And Passion because all division staff, volunteers, and participants bring dedication and purpose to everything they do.
